Short,
Sweet and oh, so Calm
Some
days need a few moments of quiet
reflection. Morning, noon, or night … whenever it feels right … give your
mind a rest … keep your soul at its best …
ATARAXIA (atʹɘ rakʹsē ɘ) n. – calmness of the mind and emotions, tranquility; also
ataraxy (-rak’se). [WW #233]
There
are never enough words in fiction or non-fiction to express tranquility. Ataraxia
is a state many aspire to, as often as possible.
In this chaotic world, ataraxia
is a must, to create the inner peace
necessary to balance our lives.
Whatever your philosophy for coping, give ataraxia
time in your day. Just five minutes to take a deep breath, push yourself away
from work, and create calm. You will feel better for it.
Word Challenge: ATARAXIA. Too much cannot
be said for making moments in your day just for you. Think about creative ways
to make it happen, as you slip ataraxia into your week of serene writings.
Learning knows no prejudices or boundaries, and it isn’t fattening!
Expanding your mind is a no-cost, simple joy. Do you feel that way too? What’s
your inspiration? Share your creative genius and Wordplay Wednesday comments below.
